Saarland enjoys an excellent reputation: Saarland nanotechnology represented once again in Japan und Korea
Saarbrücken / Tokyo, February 2008
gwSaar, the Saarland Economic Promotion Corporation, organised a Saarland stand for the fifth time in succession at the NanoTech 2008 fair in Tokyo to exhibit products and technologies developed in Saarland in the field of nanotechnology. 180 exhibitors and 45,000 trade visitors made NanoTech Tokyo the largest nanotechnology fair in the world.
The initiative
Saarland Empowering Nano links Saarland’s competences in the field of nanotechnology and provides a marketing platform for companies and research institutes. Involved in the initiative are INM - the Leibniz Institute for New Materials, gwSaar - the Saarland Economic Promotion Corporation, and nanotechnology companies. It is a worthwhile commitment for the companies participating: Nanogate AG and Nano-X GmbH as well as INM - the Leibniz Institute for New Materials and NanoBioNet - all benefit from the initiative, their business flourishing due to an unwavering presence over the last few years.
Strong interest in Saarland’s nanotechnology
A workshop in Yokohama reinforced Saarland’s presence at the fair in Tokyo. As a result of the cooperation with Yokohama’s promotion of economic development it was possible again this year to interest around 80 Japanese companies in Saarland as a nanotechnology location. Interest in Saarland is great - also in Korea. Participation in the fair in Japan was followed by company presentations in Korea, where Saarland has meanwhile built up an excellent reputation.
