For young filmmakers, a participation at the MAX OPHÜLS PREIS means an important step into their professional future. Since its launch in 1980, the festival has been committed to the promotion of the young, German-speaking film. It understands itself as the major platform for the promotion of young talents from Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The festival can claim for itself to be the only explicit festival for young filmmakers in the German-speaking area.
