From 1 to 5 March, gwSaar, the Saarland Economic Promotion Corporation, will present the computer science location of Saarland at the CeBIT in Hanover. At the joint stand for Saarland the corporation will provide Saarland's IT companies with support in establishing contacts with interested parties. At the same time, it will promote the exceptional quality of the location in the immediate vicinity of France and Luxembourg, and will speak with potential investors. Saarland is a renowned German computer science location and a leading German state in this field, possessing the best international reputation. “Here it is understood that you have to be at the forefront of critical future trends. The quality of the computer science location is also underpinned by countless alliances in research and industry," stresses Thomas Schuck, Managing Director of the Saarland Economic Promotion Corporation.
As a prestigious location for basic research and application research in computer science, the location simultaneously offers extensive space for leading research as well as a breeding ground and the right infrastructure for spin-offs from universities and established companies. Here, everybody profits from the proximity between research and the economy. Computer science subjects are researched by institutions such as the Saarland University, the University of Applied Sciences, the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI), the Max-Planck Institute for Informatics, the Max-Planck Institute for Software Systems and the Center for Bioinformatics.
